Boston

This work reimagines Boston as a place where history has not disappeared, but remains suspended within the present. A modern sailboat rests before the city skyline, yet the harbor is unsettled by faint, ghostlike traces of the Boston Tea Party. Figures, fragments, and shifting space emerge through mist as if the event has seeped into the atmosphere itself. Rather than depicting the incident directly, the work suggests that the memory of protest, resistance, and upheaval still inhabits Boston Harbor. The city is not presented as a fixed landscape, but as a layered field where different times coexist and blur into one another. Pale blue-gray tones create an ambiguous, floating atmosphere, while the contemporary boat anchors the image in the present. Through this overlap of present-day Boston and its historical memory, the work asks how a city continues to carry the unseen remains of its own past.
