国常立尊 Kunitokotachi-no-mikoto
Kuninotokotachi-no-Mikoto is the primordial deity of the land, appearing as the heavens and earth first separated. Representing the eternal stability of the Japanese archipelago, he embodies the powerful, budding breath of life that solidified the chaotic earth into a firm foundation for all existence and sacred order.
Artist Commentary
In this work, I depicted the overwhelming presence of Kuninotokotachi-no-Mikoto—the moment cosmic will descended to earth and took on a definitive mass. Beyond visible form, this deity is the very spirituality of the ground we tread upon. I expressed his solitary nobility and the unchanging will that has supported this land for eons as a deep, silent mass of blue light.
The profound blue seated at the center is not merely a color; it is the powerful gravity welling up from the depths of the earth. This light holds a "grounding power" to calm restless minds and deeply anchor the soul to its origins. Through this piece, I hope you rediscover your own unwavering foundation and find the strength to stand tall through any storm, feeling the majesty of the earth's abyss.
