Arcturus - Guiding
This work portrays the full constellation of Boötes, positioning its brightest star, Arcturus, at the lower center of the composition. Amid the expansive grouping of stars, this singular luminous point stands as a stabilizing reference that governs the constellation as a whole, symbolizing its role as a guardian star. Placed at this point, the light functions like a root embedded in the earth, supporting the entire visual field and stabilizing the upward extension of interconnected stars.
The layered particles disperse in a breathing-like rhythm, translating the inherent order and harmony of the constellation into a visible structure. Arcturus has long served as a navigational marker and has been referred to as a “guardian star” throughout history. Drawing on this tradition, the work presents it as the gravitational and visual center of Boötes, emphasizing balance, coherence, and structural continuity within the vast celestial expanse.
