Sedimentation begins with a surface in which matter appears unevenly distributed. The upper field remains pale and diffuse, while density gradually increases toward the lower part of the image. Nothing falls visibly, yet the material seems to settle through differences in weight, texture, and reflected light.

The transition is slow. Fine particles, abrasion, and traces of color remain suspended across the surface, but they gather into darker concentrations below. Light does not disappear as the material becomes denser. It remains embedded within the surface, revealing the structure of what has accumulated.

The work focuses on this gradual movement from dispersion toward weight. Sedimentation is not presented as a single event, but as a condition produced over time. Matter settles, compresses, and records its passage within the surface, creating a field in which lightness above and density below belong to the same continuous material state, without ever becoming fully separated layers.
