Moon Over the Ruined Castle

This artwork captures the timeless beauty of the 荒城の月石碑, a monument dedicated to the iconic Japanese song "Kojo no Tsuki" (Moon Over the Ruined Castle) by Rentaro Taki. The stele, standing amidst nature's vibrant hues, reflects a poignant harmony between cultural heritage and the natural world.

The interplay of light and shadow evokes the song’s melancholic tones, where the moon becomes a symbol of fleeting beauty and the passage of time. The vibrant autumn leaves and the gentle glow of sunlight provide a hopeful contrast, suggesting renewal and resilience amidst the memories of the past.

Through this work, I aim to honor the enduring legacy of "Kojo no Tsuki" while celebrating Fukushima’s deep cultural and natural heritage. It is an invitation to reflect on the stories etched into the landscapes we cherish, where history and nature coexist in quiet harmony.
