Reykjavik Aurora

In this work, Reykjavik, the ocean, Icelandic hills, and the aurora occupy the same atmospheric field. The city remains visible along the lower edge, but it no longer feels separate from the natural landscape surrounding it.

The hills appear to drift into the sky, while the ocean reflects and disperses the lights of the city. Above them, the aurora spreads across the image as another layer of movement, connecting earth, water, and atmosphere. These elements do not compete for attention; they gradually merge.

The work explores a place where urban life and nature are not opposites. Instead, they coexist within the same shifting environment, each altering the way the other is perceived. The city becomes part of the weather, while the landscape takes on traces of human presence.

What remains is neither a conventional cityscape nor a pure landscape, but an unstable space where both can exist at once simultaneously.
