Reykjavik Aurora

yAn aurora appears over Reykjavík. In this work, light turns into particles and begins to mingle with matter. The sea and mountain views of the outskirts also dissolve into the image, so that urban and natural elements merge into a single confused field. Yet within this state of mixture, the particulate light keeps a firm and unmistakable presence. It does not disappear into atmosphere or surface, but remains visible as something definite. In that sense, the aurora and the lights of the city are treated as the same light. What separates them is not their nature, but only their position. One appears in the sky, the other along the ground and waterfront, yet both exist as luminous matter within the same visual field. The work therefore presents Reykjavík not as a stable landscape, but as a place where light, material, city, sea, and mountain intermingle without clear boundaries for viewers.
