菊理姫命 Kukurihime-no-mikoto
Kukurihime-no-Mikoto is the primary deity of Mount Hakusan, known for her power to "bind" (kukuri) opposing forces into harmony. She famously mediated the conflict between Izanagi and Izanami at the border of life and death, symbolizing the integration of yin and yang, and the restoration of sacred order.
Artist Commentary
In this work, I expressed the "serene power of mediation" embodied by Kukurihime-no-Mikoto, appearing at the boundary where the two great cosmic principles collide. She is the holy junction who mends the rifts of the universe, integrating them back into a single harmony.
The intense vertical white light piercing the center symbolizes a flash of pure will that instantaneously connects heaven and earth, life and death, and self and other. The surrounding bluish-purple radiance is an abyss of compassion that enfolds and sublimes all conflict. This light serves as a "binding force" to lead the various frictions in your life toward a higher dimension of balance.
Through this piece, I hope you can re-bind fragmented emotions or situations and move toward a new stage of integration with a deep sense of relief. Please feel the overwhelming divine majesty hidden within the silence that unites the world.
