Record of Light Series – Click Image for Details

Record of Light does not define light as an origin or a destination, but records the conditions under which it becomes perceptible. Rather than explaining what light is, the series traces how light appears, interferes, dissolves, and leaves residual traces within perceptual space.

Each work is constructed within the RGB spectrum—the three elemental channels of digital light. Red, green, and blue are treated not as symbols, but as measurable wavelengths that establish the limits of visibility. Through their interaction, transient luminous states emerge, destabilize, and fade before reaching fixed coherence.

Photographic fragments are layered, blurred, and partially erased until recognizable form collapses. What remains are fields of light in transition—neither object nor abstraction, but records of passage and threshold. In this series, light functions as both medium and trace: a visible residue of interaction, captured at the moment perception briefly holds before dispersing.

Dimensional Membrane

Dimensional Membrane

The first chapter of the Record of Light series is based on the theme of the dimensional membrane. It depicts the higher-dimensional world glimpsed from the three-dimensional world as an open window facing our reality, while expressing the presence of a dimensional membrane within that window that restricts passage between the two realms. This approach addresses the state in which light is generated and the ways in which it acts upon the three-dimensional world, revealing the relationship between the two.

The works are formed by layering multiple digital images, allowing light to interact through transmission, absorption, and reflection to arrive at a final composition. In this series in particular, interference patterns produced by each layer are intentionally generated and employed as a visual expression of the dimensional membrane.

Superposition

This work visualizes superposition through multiple dimensional membranes appearing simultaneously. Each membrane corresponds to a different higher dimension, layered within one perceptual field. Multiple worldlines coexist at once, and under certain conditions, one configuration becomes perceptible, allowing consciousness to move between dimensions rather than collapsing into a single state.

Dimensional Membrane I

At the center lies a dimensional membrane separating the three-dimensional world from higher dimensions. Through this membrane, light from the higher realm becomes visible in our world. The two realms remain divided; crossing requires purification of the soul. Beyond the membrane, unseen and limitless possibilities unfold.

Dividing Dimensional Membrane

This work depicts the moment when a dimensional membrane—an entrance to higher dimensions—splits like a cell dividing. In a multiverse where universes branch according to consciousness, dimensional realms continuously separate and regenerate. The image represents the precise instant when multiple states diverge into parallel realities.

Transmission

This work depicts light transitioning to a higher dimension through a dimensional membrane. The high-luminance area on the right marks the passage of light. While parts of the membrane appear dark or closed, light naturally selects permeable zones. Dimensional ascent is not vertical, but a horizontal shift, like crossing a window.

Dimensional Membrane III

This work presents a three-dimensional frame functioning as a dimensional membrane. Through this framed boundary, the viewer perceives higher dimensions beyond ordinary space. Even higher dimensions contain alternating states—brighter and darker phases—existing as counterparts. These contrasting states enable recognition, defining each other through difference rather than separation.

Dissapearing Dimensional Membrane

Disappearing Dimensional Membrane depicts the moment when a dimensional membrane begins to close. Such membranes do not permanently connect three-dimensional and higher-dimensional realms; they appear only briefly. As the membrane fades, its color dissolves, and the passage gradually seals, marking a transient interval before complete disappearance.

Beyond Third Dimension

This artwork presents the third-dimensional world facing a higher dimension through a threshold that functions as a portal-like membrane. The boundary separates realms yet remains reachable. By transforming into a pure state of light, one may penetrate the membrane and cross into a different dimensional order.

Light Spectrum

Beyond the dimensional membrane appears light rising like water vapor within morning mist. The higher-dimensional world is not composed of uniform light alone; it contains movement, light, and shadow. Dark masses, resembling storm clouds, do not negate light but instead reveal it, forming a complementary relationship.

Moring Mist

When light from higher dimensions seen through a dimensional membrane becomes too intense, it casts shadows not only within higher realms but also into the three-dimensional world. This exchange pulls strongly upward. As matter exits as light, light also passes back, opening a perceivable gateway through shadow into existence now.

Higher Dimensions Atomosphere

This work depicts the atmosphere of a higher dimension glimpsed through a dimensional membrane. Although higher-dimensional, it can overlap with our three-dimensional world, existing alongside the present. In this realm, light remains purer, less shaped by surroundings, and exists according to its own inherent form.

Calm Light

This work depicts gentle light from a higher dimension. Passing through a dimensional membrane, it overflows into the three-dimensional world. When light reaches a pure state, it appears unmixed and clear. Its shower expresses intensified purification, as higher and three-dimensional realms momentarily interpenetrate through sustained ascent and mutual resonance briefly.

Dawn of Higher Dimension

The higher-dimensional scene beyond the dimensional membrane appears as a dawn. Dawn light signifies rebirth and renewal, revealing light purified into a new state. As this cycle repeats, a continually renewed, purified world emerges. In the three-dimensional world, sunrise mirrors this process, marking each day as a new beginning and step toward higher dimensions.

One-over-F Fluctuation

This work depicts a dimensional membrane and the higher-dimensional world visible beyond it. In that realm, light does not remain fixed but fluctuates continuously. This balanced, non-extreme fluctuation—known as one-over-f fluctuation—creates a sense of comfort. The shifting light and subtle color deviations visualize this higher-dimensional state.

The Break of Dawn

This work shifts its focus from the dimensional membrane itself to the higher-dimensional realm visible beyond it. It depicts a state of dawn—a moment of beginning—where a universe formed by consciousness exists in a vague, indeterminate state and gradually acquires clearer structure, observed through the dimensional membrane.

Folded Time

A warm, luminous sphere moves beyond a dimensional membrane. This work depicts a single light orb in motion, where time appears as overlapping moments. What seems like duration is a superposition. In higher dimensions, past, present, and future coexist and are observed simultaneously.

Splitted Dimensional Membrane

At times, a dimensional membrane separates in a manner resembling cell division. This occurs alongside the generation of a multiverse. Normally invisible from three-dimensional space, the phenomenon becomes perceptible when the membrane is open, revealing a rare moment in which the membrane itself divides.
